HIKERBABES COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION, ASSUMPTION OF RISK & LIABILITY WAIVER
By signing below, I acknowledge that I am voluntarily participating in hikes, walks, meetups, outdoor activities, fitness activities, social events, and other activities organized, promoted, or hosted by HikerBabes Community, its chapters, Ambassadors, volunteers, representatives, or affiliates (“HikerBabes Activities”).
ASSUMPTION OF RISK
I understand that hiking and outdoor activities involve inherent and unforeseen risks, including but not limited to uneven, steep, slippery, loose, or unstable terrain; falls; rocks, trees, water crossings, snow and ice; strenuous physical activity; changing or extreme weather; heat or cold exposure; altitude; wildlife, insects and plants; falling objects; getting lost or separated from the group; limited or delayed access to emergency services; equipment failure; actions of other participants; transportation-related risks when applicable; and other hazards associated with hiking, outdoor recreation, fitness activities, travel, and group events.
I understand that injuries may be minor or serious and could include permanent disability or death. I knowingly and voluntarily assume the risks associated with my participation, whether known or unknown, foreseeable or unforeseeable, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY
I am responsible for determining whether an activity is appropriate for my abilities, experience, physical condition, and comfort level. I am responsible for bringing appropriate clothing, footwear, water, food, medications, equipment, and other necessary supplies.
I understand that HikerBabes encourages participants to “Hike Your Own Hike.” I am responsible for my own decisions, including choosing to slow down, turn around, or discontinue an activity.
I understand that HikerBabes Ambassadors and volunteers are community event hosts and are not necessarily professional guides, medical professionals, or wilderness rescue personnel.
RELEASE OF LIABILITY
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, I voluntarily release, waive, and discharge HikerBabes Community, its owners, officers, employees, chapters, Ambassadors, volunteers, representatives, affiliates, event hosts, and agents from claims arising from or related to my participation in HikerBabes Activities, including claims arising from ordinary negligence.
This release does not apply to conduct that cannot legally be released or waived under applicable law.
I understand that I am responsible for my own medical expenses, personal property, transportation, and other costs resulting from my participation unless otherwise required by law.
EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE
If I become injured or ill during an activity and am unable to make decisions for myself, I authorize reasonable emergency assistance to be sought on my behalf. I understand that HikerBabes Community and its Ambassadors, volunteers, and participants cannot guarantee the availability, timing, or outcome of emergency or medical assistance.
CONTINUING AGREEMENT
I understand and agree that this waiver applies to all current and future HikerBabes Community activities in which I voluntarily participate, including activities hosted by different HikerBabes chapters, Ambassadors, or volunteers.
This waiver does not expire solely because time has passed and remains in effect for as long as I participate in HikerBabes Community activities, unless HikerBabes Community requires me to complete a new or updated waiver.
I understand that retreats, travel experiences, professional guides, outfitters, venues, or third-party providers may require additional waivers.
ACKNOWLEDGMENT
By signing below, I confirm that I have read and understand this agreement, understand the risks associated with participation, voluntarily assume those risks, understand that I am giving up certain legal rights by signing, and agree to be bound by this waiver for my current and future participation in HikerBabes Community activities.
